FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Burnley home last night when a kitchen fire got out of control.
A 33 year-old woman had left food under the grill at her detached home in Shore Avenue, Harle Syke, while she was upstairs feeding her baby.
The fire, which started at 8.30pm, damaged an electric cooker and worktop. Smoke damage was caused to the rest of the property.
The new mum only noticed the fire when she saw smoke and left the property.
Firefighters installed smoke alarms and were due to return to the house on Friday to give the family home fire safety advice.
They said the woman was left ‘shaken up’ by the incident.
