A 40-YEAR-OLD woman who was claiming benefits failed to notify the authorities when she got a job.
Blackburn magistrates heard housing and council tax benefits were being paid to Tracey Holden by Blackburn with Darwen Council – which was also employing her as a welfare assistant.
The court heard she also received income support and continued to receive all three benefits after getting work.
Holden, of New Wellington Gardens, Mill Hill, pleaded guilty to three charges of failing to notify a change in circumstances.
She was ordered to do 60 hours unpaid work and pay £150 costs. The court heard the offences had resulted in a total overpayment of £4,903.
