A MUM has been inundated with offers of help after her son’s special needs pushchair was stolen.

Our story last week told how a thief took the buggy from outside Louise Carroll’s home in Nuttall Lane, Ramsbottom.

It belonged to her 14-year-old blind, disabled and autistic son, Macaulay Bardsley, who relied on the pushchair every time he went out.

Louise said: “Since the story, I’ve had numerous phone calls.

“Five people have offered to replace the pushchair, while many others wanted to donate money. I’m very touched by the kindness of everyone.”

The special needs buggy, MacLaren Major Elite pushchair, worth £250, had only been bought two months ago because Macaulay’s old pushchair could not longer be used.

Ms Carroll, 36, said: “I don’t know if the thief or thieves realised the pushchair belonged to someone who is disabled.

“In the meantime, we are having to use an old chair which is virtually falling to pieces.”
