YOB behaviour dropped dramatically in Ramsbottom and Tottington in a month, police figures show.

From April to May, reported incidents of anti-social behaviour were down by 63 per cent in Tottington and 41 per cent in Ramsbottom.

However, the number of thefts from cars and general vehicle crime increased in both areas.

PC Carolyn Morley, of the Ramsbottom Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Generally, people are reporting items being stolen but with no damage to the vehicle which suggests people are leaving their doors unlocked.”

Burglaries, violence and other crimes increased in Ramsbottom, but the number of overall crimes remained the same, at 87.

In Tottington, other crimes rose while the number of violent crimes remained the same and burglaries decreased slightly.

When compared with March, violent crime in both areas remained steady and there was a decrease in the number of other crimes.
