MORE than 150 incidents of rogue cold callers targeting vulnerable Lancashire residents have been reported so far this year.

Lancashire County Council Trading Standards said that in many cases work carried out has been substandard and overcharged.

A new campaigbn has now been launched focused on warning residents of being ‘burnt by bogus traders’.

County Councillor Albert Atkinson, deputy leader of Lancashire County Council, said: “While it is not illegal for handymen to canvas for work in this manner, rogue doorstep trading is an ongoing problem and often combined with pressure sales techniques to convince you to sign up there and then."
