ROSSENDALE Council has won an extra £75,000 of Government funding to support disabled people in the borough.
The additional £75,000 will be matched with £50,000 from Rossendale Council's existing programme to make a total of £125,000 for Disabled Facilities Grants.
The money will be used to fund disabled adaptations such as level-access showers, stair lifts, and ramped access.
Rossendale beat competition for the funding with councils across the North West asking for £8m but only £1m being available.
Coun Bill Challinor, portfolio holder for regeneration, said: "I am delighted that we have been successful. For once we have got more than our fair share."
