POLICE in the Coal Clough and Cog Lane areas of Burnley are warning mini-moto owners their vehicles will be seized if they are being used illegally or causing a nuisance to local residents.

One mini-moto has already been seized over recent weeks and officers are warning that unless riders curb their anti-social activities, more mini motos will go.

Police Community Support Officer Dave Johnson said: "Whilst it isn't an offence to own a motorised go-ped or scooter, it is an offence to ride one in a public place.

"It appears some are still unaware of this fact or are blatantly ignoring it.

"Anyone caught riding them in a public place will be issued with a warning and if they fail to adhere to that, then the vehicle will be seized."
