A DRIVER punched another motorist who he accused of thinking he "owned the road", a court was told.
Blackburn magistrates heard Glen Paul Bailey had followed the other driver for over a mile before the confrontation on Whitebirk roundabout.
And magistrates committed him to the Crown Court for sentence after ruling the incident crossed the custody threshold and hearing he was in breach of a suspended prison sentence imposed for firearms offences.
Bailey, 25, of Petre Crescent, Rishton, was convicted after a trial of assaulting Lee Reynolds.
Lisa Worsley, prosecuting, said as Mr Reynolds went through the lights in Rishton a BMW almost hit him.
As he approached the roundabout at Whitebirk the BMW flashed its lights so he stopped.
Mr Reynolds said Bailey got out of his car, made the comment about owning the road and then swung at him.
