A COUNCIL-led scheme that provides tenants with a list of reputable landlords has been bolstered by the signing of one of the area's largest private rental companies.
Sterling Properties has become the latest edition to Hyndburn Council's landlord accreditation scheme.
The initiative allows potential tenants to feel confident when renting a property.
The scheme encourages landlords to recognise their responsibilities as stakeholders in the community.
Property and tenancy management standards must be met for the landlord to be accredited.
Presenting Sterling's accreditation certificate, Coun Tony Dobson said: "This scheme is really important as it has enormous benefits for both for the tenant and the landlord.
"By signing up, Sterling Properties have made a voluntary commitment to agree to manage and maintain their properties to a defined standard, meaning that potential tenants can have peace of mind that they are dealing with a reputable landlord."
Steven Kay, of Sterling Properties, added: "As agents for major investors in the private rented sector of the Hyndburn area we are delighted to achieve accreditation status with Hyndburn council, which we feel proves our commitment to providing quality, well-maintained properties together with a good management service for our tenants."
