A NEWSAGENTS was robbed at knifepoint for bags of Haribo sweets and cash this afternoon.
The robbery took place at Redlam News and Stationery in Redlam, Blackburn.
Police were called at 12.45pm to reports of two men at the small shop.
One waited outside, while the other went into the premises, brandishing a knife.
DI Mark Winstanley said threats were made to the shopkeeper, but nobody was harmed.
He said they escaped with cash and a plastic container of sweets.
Police said the two men were not wearing masks.
This afternoon, officers were stationed outside the shop as forensic examinations were made.
The shopkeeper was being interviewed by detectives.
A short time later, two men were arrested near Grimshaw Retail Park, in Blackburn town centre.
The two men, both aged 18, from the Blackburn area, are being held on suspicion of robbery.
