NELSON police station has reopened to the public, having been closed since December for refurbishment.

The enquiry desk has now reopened and departments including CID and response have moved back into the building on Broadway after officers and staff were moved to Colne while work was carried out.

Det Insp Dave Groombridge said: “The old building was no longer fit for purpose and the improvements will bring considerable benefits to ensure the constabulary is able to deliver a truly professional and efficient service to the people of Nelson.”
