A NEW store selling CDs, DVDs and computer games is to open in Blackburn in the space vacated by the sudden closure of a gadget shop.

That’s Entertainment, which has 16 stores in the North and Midlands, is currently fitting out the unit in The Mall vacated by electrical gadgets shop Gimme Gizmo, which closed suddenly around three weeks ago.

The music and entertainment store will open its doors to customers on Saturday.

That’s Entertainment, which launched in 2009, stocks new and ‘played before’ items and specialises in ‘multibuy’ offers.

“We think that Blackburn’s shoppers will really enjoy our shop”, said Rachel MacLean, the new store’s manager.

“In the current climate I know everyone’s keen to save a few quid. We believe our low prices mean that people’s money can go a lot further.”

A spokesman for previous occupiers Gimme Gizmo confirmed the store had no plans to relocate in Blackburn, but did not give a reason for the closure.

The store had been criticised for selling mugs and playing cards with lewd slogans, stress squeezers in the shape of body parts, Kama Sutra sweets and a foul-mouthed toy called ‘Polly the insulting parrot’.

The store had come under fire in other towns for selling a device that allowed people to look up women’s skirts.
