A KILLER serving life behind bars after knifing his boyfriend through the heart in a drunken row has failed in an Appeal Court bid to have his minimum jail term cut.
David Frank Fielding stabbed 27-year-old James Todd, before leaving his body to rot in their flat for three weeks while he told people his partner had gone away.
Fielding, 26, of Lynthorpe Road, Blackburn, was ordered to serve at least 18 years after being convicted of murder in February.
Yesterday he challenged his minimum term at London’s Criminal Appeal Court, with his lawyers arguing it was ‘too long’ as the stabbing was ‘not pre-meditated’.
But the appeal was dismissed by top judges who said the sentence was ‘not excessive’ in the circumstances of the case.
