AN ACCRINGTON primary school has won £600 worth of sports kit.
Benjamin Hargreaves C of E Primary School was awarded the prize as they were named the Hyndburn SPAR Star School of the Year following the district qualifying events of the SPAR Lancashire Youth Games 2010.
The school received their prize from Surridge Sport at a special presentation during morning assembly yesterday.
Jane Sheridan, senior competition manager, said: “The SPAR Star School Awards allow us to recognise the schools which have made the greatest contribution to the youth games, giving pupils the chance to continue to compete at the highest possible levels of school sport.”
The 2011 county finals are currently underway, with events taking place across all local authority districts in Lancashire, in gymnastics, tag rugby, high five netball, girls’ football, swimming and tennis.
