A TEAM of Clitheroe pupils has reached the national finals of a business contest.
The 20-strong team of 16 year olds, from Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, will represent the North West in the finals of the Young Enterprise Awards 2011.
Capable of giving Lord Alan Sugar’s apprentices a run for their money, the ‘promising’ youngsters were picked after creating an eco gift bag firm.
The company, formed last September, has generated profits of more than £1,500 selling its eco-friendly gift sets, and is down to the final 12 out of 3,000 businesses.
As part of their prize for winning the regional finals, in Manchester’s Concorde Conference Centre, the team won mentoring sessions with straight-talking BBC Apprentice runner-up Ruth Badger.
The final will be held at The Savoy Hotel, London, from July 11 to 13.
