A TEENAGER who staged a violent escape from the dock at Blackburn magistrates has returned to the court — in handcuffs.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in court charged with escaping from lawful custody and assaulting security officer Greg Bradley.
His wrists were handcuffed, he was also handcuffed to one dock officer, flanked by another and a third was positioned in the court.
The youth pleaded guilty to both charges and was remanded in custody to appear before youth court.
On Thursday of last week the youth was remanded in custody by District Judge Peter Ward but before the handcuffs were placed on him he attacked Mr Bradley, kneeing him and punching him.
After pushing the security officer down the steps to the cells he jumped onto a metal grille and scaled the 10 foot Perspex dock wall before fleeing from the building.
There was no application for bail when he was brought back before the court.
