ONE of Barrowford’s most iconic buildings has been offered to the village as a community centre.
Pendle Council wants to sell Holmefield House, in Gisburn Road, and has offered the parish council a deal.
At Pendle Council’s executive committee, councillors agreed outline plans to hand over the property.
This means the building will be used for the Luncheon Club, various council meetings and regular PACT meetings.
The news comes as Pendle Council announced Barrowford Civic Hall would close in autumn.
John Pope, chair of Barrowford Parish Council, said: “We have identified the major need for a community centre in Barrowford.”
The parish council could move a few hundred yards down the road from as early as October.
