A conman who struck twice in 20 minutes and three times at Colne Asda has walked free.
Burnley Magistrates heard how Donald Andrew Stewart, 50, used false cheques to get plant hire equipment worth almost £3,000 and 19 minutes later lied his way to a TV and DVD player worth £229.
Stewart was given a two-year community rehabilitation order and must pay £3,206 compensation and £250 costs.
The defendant, of Coates Avenue, Barnoldswick, had been convicted of two deception charges in 2004 and attempted deception in 2004 February 2005.
