A QUILT fashioned by a Rawtenstall designer was handed to Glastonbury mogul Michael Eavis to celebrate the festival’s 40th birthday.
Textile artist Amy Kett, 24, who is studying at Salford University, was given the commission by turnstile operator Sesame Portastile.
The firm has been involved with the festival for 21 years and wanted to commemorate Glastonbury’s ruby anniversary.
Forty sections make up the patchwork creation, dubbed Datafields, which was a labour of love for festival regular Amy.
She said: “While the work is to be given to mark a particular milestone, I would like the quilt to be part of an on-going legacy.”
Previously, Amy, who is in the final year of an MA in communication design, also worked on printed artwork and a mobile phone application for the American music festival, Coachella.
