AN entrepreneur has taken his business from humble beginnings to a national force.
Since launching telecoms provider Denwa Communications in 2006, Rob Scott has developed the business, which now has a turnover approaching £2 million and employs 15 people.
The 32-year-old said he had come a long way since setting up the business with no sales experience and just enough money to fund the first three months.
Rob, who went to West Craven High and Nelson and Colne College, said: “I took a job with a Burnley firm that had a telecoms arm and started working my way up from being 18 or 19-years-old.
“I actually ended up working in Japan and while I was out there I had a pretty good CEO who took me under his wing and taught me about business.
“I came home, looking to set up my own business and started Denwa.
“I didn’t have much money and I had never sold anything before, but I thought if I could just sell a few systems then I might be all right.
“I put my first system on Ebay and funnily enough it sold - and that customer is still a customer today.”
Denwa, based at Vantage Court in Barrowford, is one of the fastest growing telecoms suppliers specialising in business telephone systems, integrated voice and data solutions and calls and line rental packages. Rob has garnered a reputation for providing a ‘personal’ service.
He said: “Denwa has grown organically and is a rapidly expanding business which boasts exceptional standards.
“We are fiercely proud of our 98 per cent customer retention rates as this is evident that although we are growing, we remain true to our core proposition of providing the best advice, the most competitive rates for the latest technology and a personal service to all of our clients.”
In honour of his achievements, Rob was presented with the One to Watch at the Lancashire Business View Young ‘Uns Awards.
He was commended for providing a service to businesses across the UK with unsurpassed satisfaction levels.
