FANCY dress was the order of the day as revellers braved indifferent weather to take part in Bacup Carnival.
Thousands of people lined the parade route, from Futures Park into the town centre, and out via the former Ross Mill site to Stubbylee Park.
After the 11am parade, entertainment took place in the park throughout the afternoon, with events opened by the Mayor of Rossendale, Coun Gladys Sandiford.
Next year's event will take place on Sunday, June 24.
