Rossendale Players are preparing to celebrate 75 years of presenting drama in the valley this autumn.
This weekend, members of the company will join the parade for Bacup and Stacksteads Carnival on Sunday, travelling on a float with the theme of their January play Sylvia’s Wedding.
Cast members will also be performing a section of the play during the carnival’s events at Stubbylee Park.
Other events planned for the year include a radio play working with Rossendale Radio, recruitment open days, and the reestablishment of the youth theatre.
The 75th anniversary season launches in September, with the play Dangerous Corner, by JB Priestley - with a black tie, red carpet and champagne reception gala opening night for local dignitaries.
A celebration dinner is also being planned for April next year, at the Riverside, Whitworth, for members of the players and their associates.
