MORE than 1,000 people didn't let the drizzle dampen their spirits at this year's Colne Gala.
Scores of families and youngsters lined the street to watch the procession and support the town’s local businesses and clubs.
Visitors enjoyed a tug-of-war competition, a martial arts presentation, comedy act Haurel and Lardy and a tombola.
The proceeds from this year’s gala will go towards the Tom Petty Foundation, set up in memory of Tom Petty, 25, who died along with his girlfriend Jessica Foxley, 21 and Philip Wright, 25, when their car hit a wall in Skipton Old Road, Colne in July 2009.
Chairman of Colne Gala, Donald Lever said: “The whole gala went very well and nobody let the little bit of drizzle at the start of the procession affect the day.”
