A youngster had to be freed by fire-fighters after getting his head stuck in metal railings yesterday.
The adventurous four-year-old Kye Loney was playing outside his uncle's house in Pennine Road, Bacup, when he got the urge to push his head through the bars.
But he couldn't free himself and cried out for help.
His mum Carina, 30, found the distressed toddler and raised the alarm around 3.30pm.
She said: “Kye was just out playing when my brother's girlfriend shouted me to go outside.
"When I got there Kye was screaming that he was stuck.
"I tried myself to get his head back through but it wouldn't budge.
"So I jumped in the car and raced to the fire station round the corner.
"The firemen were just great. They came up straight away and released him really quickly.
“But if I'm honest by this point we were all finding the situation amusing as Kye is so accident prone.”
She said the Thorn Primary School pupil, who lives in Waterside Terrace, Bacup, with his mum and sister, Portia, aged nine, was none the worse for his experience.
And he even wants to become a fireman when he grows up to help other children who find themselves in sticky situations.
Kye, who fell over and bruised his eye while playing on his scooter shortly after being rescued, said: “I just couldn't get my head out.
“When the firemen came they turned me upside down to get me free.
"I felt like I was going to fall.
"I think I would like to be a fireman when I'm bigger too."
