TALENTED teenagers are being given the chance to perform at Burnley's biggest music festival.
Organisers of Towneley Live are searching for singers, aged between 13 and 19, to enter the ‘Star for the Festival’ competition.
And the winner will take to the stage alongside chart-toppers McFly, N-Dubz, The Saturdays and Diversity and have their single released on iTunes.
A tour bus will also visit colleges across Burnley, Padiham and Rossendale to give students an in-sight into how big named acts live when touring.
The top two students from Shuttleworth College Padiham, Hamledon College, Burnley, UCLan Burnley Campus, Unity College, Burnley, Alder Grange, Rawtenstall, Fearns Sports College, Bacup, Accrington and Rossendale College, Accrington, Haslingden High School, and Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, Waterfoot, will automatically win a place in the semi-finals at Burnley Mechanics.
The bus will also be in Burnley shopping centre on the hunt for future stars from Tuesday until Thursday.
A Towneley Live spokesman said: “This is an amazing opportunity for a young singer or duo to perform in front of thousands, on the same stage as the biggest stars in the world, and get a single released on iTunes.
“For the winner, I really believe this is the chance of a lifetime.”
To enter the competition, send a one-track CD vocal demo with a short biography to Doc Redeye, PO Box 506, Burnley BB11 9EF.
All entries must be received before July 8.
After the semi-final at Burnley Mechanics the two winners will be put forward for a public vote.
