A SPEEDING teenage driver who killed his cousin and a lifelong friend in a horror crash today admitted causing their deaths by dangerous driving.

Zahid Ali, 18, of Richmond Hill Street, Accrington, lost control of his BMW on a bend. He is now facing jail.

The vehicle became airborne before crashing into a wall and parked car in Marsden Road, Burnley, on March 10.

Passengers Kasier Hussain, 16, who was Ali’s cousin, and childhood friend Mohammed Sajad Khan, 19, died.

Police said the crash was a warning of the ‘heart-breaking consequences of reckless speeding’ which should serve as a warning to others.

Ali appeared at Burnley Crown Court and pleaded guilty to the two counts of death by dangerous driving.

He was not seriously hurt in the crash but walked with a heavy limp from his injuries.

A third passenger, Wasif Ali, 20, spent several days in Royal Blackburn Hospital after the crash and suffered a fractured right collar bone, broken rib and severe bruising.

Mohammed Nawaz, representing Ali, said his client had always taken responsibility for the accident.

Avid Manchester United fan Kasier, of Ormerod Street, Accrington, who was a front seat passenger in the car, was a former Moorhead High School pupil and was due to start a college course this year.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mohammed, of Richmond Road, died in hospital from his injuries the day after the crash.

The former pupil at Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School was studying at Blackburn College and played for Enfield and Edenfield cricket clubs.

It has not yet been revealed what speed Ali’s car was travelling at when he lost control.
