A FRESH bid is being made to reopenan award-winning eaterie in the middle of Padiham - which closed more than three years ago.
Cafe hopeful Clare Starbuck is one of the backers of a new licence for The Fat Giraffe (below), at the corner of Church Street and Calder Street in Padiham.
New owners have been sought for the premises since the original coffee shop and restaurant ceased trading in May 2008.
But this is the first concrete application to relaunch the venture, which notched up a string of accolades.
The new licence, lodged with Burnley Council, would see the cafe open at 7am weekdays and slightly later at the weekend, and close at 1am.
Live and recorded music permissions have also been applied for an alcohol licence, ceasing at 12.30am.
The announcement comes as the former Corner House, at the top of Burnley Road in Padiham, looks set to become a beauty salon.
New owners are still being sought for the neighbouring Kings Arms pub.
The Cellar restaraunt, also in Church Street, continues to thrive.
