A PADIHAM High School finished runners-up in a national design competition in London aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles amongst youngsters.

Shuttleworth College’s Team ‘Tech Eds’ beat dozens of schools to reach the final of the GE ‘Design My Break’ competition which took place at the Forman’s Fish Island in London.

The team’s winning idea was ‘Health Target’ a darts based game which encouraged healthy eating at lunch time.

They received £500 after winning the regional heat to turn their ideal midday break into reality as well as winning tickets to a regional 2012 Olympic or Paralympic Games event.

GE’s Design My Break competition asked students to work in teams to dream up inspiring and innovative activities for the mid-day school break that could make it a healthy and happy time in the school day and lead to good eating habits.
