A PADIHAM man has won the competition to name a beer being especially produced for Pendle Pub Walk.
The organisers have decided to go with Norman Cope’s idea to name the beer, produced by event sponsor Moorhouse’s brewery, “Spellbinder”.
Norman of Huntroyd, Padiham has won a gallon of Moorhouse’s beer and four tickets for a full hospitality tour around the new £4.2 million Accrington Road brewery facility in Burnley.
David Grant, the managing director of Moorhouse’s Brewery said: “Spellbinder is a terrific name, as we’ve often used the theme of Pendle Witches when we’ve named our beers.
“I hope that many of the hundreds of walkers taking part in this year’s Pendle Pub Walk will have the opportunity to sample the beer, whilst they’re raising money for Pendleside Hospice.”
Anybody interested in either participating in the walk or sponsoring walkers should visit the website set up especially for the walk - www.pendlepubwalk.co.uk to register. More than 400 walkers have already registered, for the event next Saturday.
