A MAN has been charged with robbery after a minister was attacked in the grounds of her own church.

Anthony Armstrong, 27, of Badge Brow, Oswaldtwistle, is set to appear before magistrates this morning after he was arrested on Saturday night.

Rev Christine Leech, 60, was making her way into Rhyddings Methodist Church, Chapel Street, Oswaldtwistle, to take a 7pm service when she was robbed last week.

Rev Leech’s money and black Nokia mobile phone were stolen.
