Nibbles Sandwich Bar, Preston Old Road, Cherry Tree, Blackburn
IT’S not an easy task to produce the calibre of sandwich that can fill you up all afternoon.
But Nibbles achieves it with ease.
With filling spilling out of a healthy-sized granary bread roll, my chicken salad selection was about as good as a sandwich gets.
With thick chunks of chicken, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, egg and a choice of salad dressing, it was a doorstop of a butty.
It satisfied the tastebuds too and, for £2.20, at a good price for its size.
My friend opted for a jacket potato with a tuna mix with sweetcorn and cucumber for £2.50.
The potato was cooked perfectly, with a soft and fluffy middle and a nicely golden skin, and was equally filling.
Despite being replete, we treated ourselves to one of their delicious-looking home made sweet offerings in the form of a lemon sponge cake.
It did not disappoint.
With a light texture and soft icing, it was almost as good as my nan used to make.
