A RAIDER spotted removing bricks from a shop in the early hours by the owner has been ordered to complete a drugs rehabilitation programme.
Burnley magistrates heard how Peter Meeks, 35, was in the back yard of the property on Brougham Street, in the town, at 6.30am.
The victim had been sleeping in the shop and saw Meeks putting a mattress up against a wall and taking bricks out to get in.
The defendant was arrested at the scene.
Meeks, of Travis Street, Burnley, admitted burglary with intent to steal on May 11, and failing to surrender.
He was given six months supervision, with a six months drugs programme and must pay £50 compensation and £80 costs.
