WORK has begun to tidy up the partially developed New Hall Hey retail park in Rawtenstall.
A meeting between the site administrators and Rossendale Council led to contractors moving on to the site to complete a list of improvements.
A litter pick, removal of all pallets, waste materials, orange fencing and the Euromix container has taken place.
Panel fencing around the former compound has also been removed while fencing near the railway line has been reinstated.
Rossendale Council’s Leader, Coun Alyson Barnes said: “I am delighted that work to tidy up this site has been taken. This is one of the main approaches into the biggest town in the Valley and it has been an eyesore for nearly three years”
