AN East Lancashire landlady missed out on the top prize of a speedboat but still did "super, smashing, great" when she appeared on TV's darting game show Bullseye.

Jackie Jackson, 35, who runs the Plough Inn, Oswaldtwistle, took part in the programme with her stepdad Ian Walsh, 55, of Devonshire Drive, Accrington.

Mrs Jackson said that she was so nervous that in practice between takes she had the studio audience laughing because she did not hit the board once with any of her darts.

Jackie and Ian travelled to Leeds to take part in the show, which was screened last night on satellite channel Challenge Television.

The pair picked up prizes including a lava lamp, beer fridge, hamper, and a toaster and grill.

But after triumphing they decided against gambling for the top prize.

Jackie, who is married to Paul and has four children, said they held a charity night at the pub yesterday to raise cash for the NSPCC while watching the show.

She said: "I was too nervous to throw the darts in the gamble so we walked away with our prizes and £215."

The darts quiz, made famous by Jim Bowen, was brought back in April after 10 years away and is now hosted by comedian Dave Spikey.
