A DART-loving pub in Blackburn has landed a very special treble.

As part of its first Monday of every month' popular live project, the Hordens will host three of the sport's biggest names over the forthcoming months.

World number five Wayne Mardle, world number one Colin Lloyd and Toronto's John Part, ranked number 16 in the world, will entertain hords' of guests at the Feniscowles venue.

Nicknamed Hawaii 501', Wayne, who is a former England international, Dutch Open winner and Embassy semi-finalist, was the first at the oche at the Blackburn pub last night.

Jaws' Lloyd, who recently consolidated his position as world number one with a second major PDC title in July, will face the crowds on Monday, October 2.

The Essex star allowed leads to slip against Wayne Mardle in the quarter-finals of both the World Championship and Las Vegas Desert Classic before bouncing back to claim the Stan James World Matchplay title in Blackpool, with a 170 checkout seeing him clinch an 18-12 victory over John Part.

And Part, who is now recognised as Canada's greatest ever darts player, takes centre stage on Monday, November 6.

Paul Booth, who took over the Thwaites' pub two years ago, said: "We are hopeful that these exhibitions will be equally as successful as the first three events we staged.

"Wayne is a London lad, he's a very bubbly character and is largely regarded as Mr Showman of darts.

"I'm told that Colin is a lovely fella and he obviously comes with a big reputation as world number one.

"And we're pleased to welcome John Part all the way from Canada.

"He's over here for a couple of tournaments and we're delighted he's agreed to come down."
