A MAJOR makeover is in store for a Rossendale park after a £50,000 handout from the National Lottery.
An Awards for All grant will be matched by funding from the borough council to benefit users of Victoria Park, in Haslingden.
Campaigners from the Friends of Victoria Park group have secured the money, which will also pay for skate and BMX equipment.
Vice-chairman Frances Whitehead said: “The play equipment we already have in the park was given a lick of paint by our friends at the probation service.
“But we thought that the children of Haslingden deserved a bit more than just a couple of swings and a slide.”
