SCHOOLS from East Lancashire have been recognised at this year's final of the Chairman's Challenge.
The challenge is designed to encourage young people to think about being healthy and safe.
Edenfield CofE Primary School, Rossendale, and Pendle View Primary School, Colne, both won £1,000 to spend on developing their activities.
During the day, pupils came up with a whole range of creative presentations to encourage children and families with healthier and safer lifestyles.
The judging panel was chaired by County Councillor Chris Holtom.
He said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their hard work and commitment to ensuring the event went so well.
“In particular, I'd like to pay tribute to the young people for taking part, their parents and teachers and the Healthy Schools team for organising the event."
