BLACKBURN Rovers manager Steve Kean denied drink-driving when he appeared in court today.
Kean, 43, was stopped on the M6 in Cheshire on May 14 and gave a breath test reading of almost twice the legal limit, Crewe magistrates heard.
The allegation is that he was breathalysed after his Mercedes was pulled over by police on the south-bound carriageway of the M6 near Knutsford.
Kean is accused of having 65 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.
Earlier in the day Rovers had drawn their final home game of the season with Manchester United 1-1.
The Scottish boss, who gave his address as Weybridge, Surrey, pleaded not guilty at a brief hearing at the court this morning.
