AN art project which depicts life in Burnley will cost more than £10,000, it has been revealed.
The 10-month project will see seven sculptures exhibited in the Burnley Room at Towneley Hall between now and next March.
Each will be designed by artist team Simon Grennan and Christopher Sperandio, and will reflect an aspect of life in the town.
The first piece, called ‘Hammerton Street Saturday Night’ is said to have been inspired by drinks displays and bar queues.
Burnley Council’s executive member for leisure and culture Councillor Jeff Sumner said the project is being funded by a £10,000 Arts Council Grant, with £1,000 from Burnley Council.
He said: “For a project that will span a year and boost visitor economy in the area, this is incredibly good value for money.
"We hope that people both from the town and from further afield will come and enjoy the pieces, and keep their eye out for the next installation next month."
