BRAVE Madison Allan is set for hospital tests next week after being struck down with a mystery illness.

The six-year-old cancer battler, of Lower Darwen, Blackburn, has just returned from Germany for treatment on an aggressive ‘spaghetti-like’ tumour in her stomach.

It revealed that the tumour had not got any larger but had also failed to shrink.

But the number of cancer cells had reduced, offering Madison’s family hope.

However, they are concerned because the youngster has been ill since returning from Germany.

She is due to visit the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital early next week for scans on her liver, where the much of the pain is coming from.

Grandmother Alison Foster said: “We are not yet sure what the reduction in cancer cells means but we are hopeful it means they are dying off.

“Having said that, she has been poorly since we got back from Germany and has been in bed a lot.

“But the tumour has also not got any better and that is something positive.

“Hopefully we will know more next week.”

Madison was accompanied on the latest trip to Germany by parents Samantha and Mark, and Mrs Foster.

In January she was told her tumour had shrunk by two centimetres all around after completing phase two of trial chemotherapy treatment.

It was the first time the neutroblastoma cancer had significantly reduced.

Madison’s treatment has been paid for by public donations to the Madison Allan Appeal, which has already raised over £100,000.

Madison's family turned to the treatment in Germany after doctors in England said they had done all they could.
