VOLUNTEERS are needed to help with the running of the miniature railway at Thompson Park in Burnley.

Help is needed with the maintaining of the railway which runs every Sunday between April and September.

Mike Bailey, of the Burnley and Pendle Miniature Railway Society, said: “We need help with the maintenance of the trains and the track as well as guards for trains. The trains run every Sunday in the summer but we do maintenance on a Wednesday and some during the winter months.

“It is an ideal volunteer role for somebody who is retired with a background in engineering or somebody who wants to do a bit of volunteering.”

Anyone who wants to help should go down to the park on a Wednesday or Sunday.
