A SCHOOL's pupils have been two extra days of holiday - thanks to the bad weather.
St Augustine's RC High School, Elker Lane, Billington, will reopen on Thursday instead of Tuesday.
The recent wet weather has prevented builders from completing an extension on the school.
In addition, there have been delays in deliveries of materials and furniture to kit out another refurbished building.
Headteacher Anthony McNamara, said that in terms of health and safety, it was not appropriate for the school's 1,000-plus pupils to return.
He added: "It is embarrassing that we can't get it done on time but we really tried hard.
"But the weather has put us back.
"The staff will be in but the school will not be open to pupils until Thursday."
