AN East Lancashire man jailed for punching someone in the head is wanted after breaching his early release licence conditions.
Ryan Ainsworth, 24, who has previously lived in Darwen, Blackburn, Accrington and Newquay, was released half-way through a three-year jail term for wounding.
Ainsworth, who has the letters ‘R.W.’ tattooed on his neck, was sentenced at Truro Crown Court in February 2010, following the attack in a row over a debt in August 2009.
But he is now wanted for questioning by Lancashire Police over an allegation of perverting the course of justice by approaching a witness who was about to give evidence in a live case.
This allegation breached his licence conditions and he has been recalled to prison.
Ainsworth is described as around 5’7” tall with blue eyes.
He has lived in East Lancashire for the majority of his life and it is thought that he could be in the area.
However, he does also have links to the Cornwall area.
A police spokesman said: “We would ask the public to be vigilant and report any sightings to the police.
"Any details could be crucial. We have a high success rate of returning people to prison.”
