NHS East Lancashire has asked patients and members of the public to follow its new Twitter account.
The primary care trust, which commissions and provides health services for Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, the Ribble Valley and Rossendale, said the website was a useful tool to be able to find out the latest news from healthcare leaders and a new way for patients to ask about access to services or give feedback on services.
A spokesman said: “The trust will use the social networking site to keep patients up to date with any issues relating to services or local healthcare campaigns such as getting the right treatment over public holiday periods.”
The trust can be found at by logging onto www.twitter.com/NHSEastlancs
