BURNLEY’s social housing landlord has scooped a prestigious award in recognition of its efforts to get unemployed people back into work.
Calico’s Skills and Enterprise Team won the Ground Breaking Service Team Of The Year award at a ceremony organised by Inside Housing magazine and the Chartered Institute of Housing.
The team is committed to breaking the worklessness cycle by supporting people into training and employment.
Philip Jones, head of regeneration for Calico, said: “This award is a tremendous achievement. It recognises the dedication the team have shown in training and supporting people across Lancashire to get back on the employment ladder.”
The awards ceremony, at the London Hilton Hotel, in Park Lane, was hosted by BBC news presenter George Alagiah.
