POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after 40 signs advertising an Oswaldtwistle funfair were stolen from around the town.
The thefts took place over several days between Friday, May 13 and 4.30pm on Wednesday, May 18 when the signs were discovered missing.
The fair, in Harvey Street and White Ash playing fields had put up the signs around Ostwaldtwisle and the latest one to be stolen was on Union Road near to the Co-op.
PC Duncan Park from Accrington Police said the business had used reusable plastic signs which were worth between £300 and £400.
He said: “I would appeal to anybody that believes they have witnessed somebody taking down any of these signs to contact police.
“I am particularly interested in speaking with a woman who we believe witnessed signs being taken in Union Street by a man in a blue coloured Vauxhall Astra.
Anyone with any information should contact the Accrington Quest team on 01254 353775.
