BLACKBURN Rovers have been praised as one of the top Premier League clubs when it comes to providing value for money.
In a survey by bank ING Direct Rovers were named as third in the ‘value league’, which compares clubs’ season ticket costs with their league performance and entertainment value.
The Ewood Park club announced low season ticket prices again yesterday, with some equating to just £12 per game.
The bank’s Richard Doe said: “We created the ING Direct Value League because many of our customers save for this large annual outlay, so we’re aware of the increasing number of fans who are questioning the value they’re getting from their club.
"The results show that with clubs raising prices, a number of disgruntled fans are saying ‘enough is enough’ and finding other ways to keep up with their club.”
Manchester City were named the best value team with Bolton Wanderers in second.
Lancashire rivals Blackpool were named eighth.
