THE Lancashire Telegraph was last night named the North West’s newspaper of the year.
We beat a strong field of big-name papers to take the accolade at the How-Do Awards.
A panel of 11 judges praised the Lancashire Telegraph’s impressive news coverage, recent comprehensive redesign and excellent development of our website.
It is the second year running the Lancashire Telegraph has been nominated in the newspaper of the year category.
Our internet site lancashiretelegraph.co.uk was shortlisted for the website of the year award for the third year running.
Editor Kevin Young collected the award at a gathering of media professionals at Lancashire Cricket Club.
He said: “It is great to win the award and is testament to the high ability and outstanding dedication of the editorial team.”
Other papers shortlisted were our sister publications the Bolton News and the Westmorland Gazette.
