FRIENDS and family have raised more than £6,000 in memory of award-winning fundraiser, Barbara Donohoe.
Barbara, from Clayton-le-Moors, raised money for Macmillan for almost 20 years.
She died from cancer last year aged 61. In 2001, she received the Macmillan President’s Medal for 10 years of outstanding service to the charity.
The fundraiser with broadcaster Ted Robbins, organised by Macmillan’s Hyndburn committee was a ‘celebration of Barbara’s life’, raised more than £6,000.
Organiser Susan Johnson, a close friend of Barbara’s, said it has been a “celebration of Barbara’s life“.
Anyone interested in holding an event in memory of a friend or family member can contact Macmillan Cancer Support on 01925 846740.
She was also awarded the coveted Richard Hambro award for outstanding leadership.
