A 25-YEAR-OLD man crashed and flipped his car over as he drove home in the earlier hours of the morning.
Blackburn magistrates heard Frederick Celestial had been drinking earlier in the evening but felt perfectly sober when he set off at 3am.
And he claimed he was unable to give a breath test because of shock and bruised ribs as a result of the crash.
Celestial, 25, of Padiham Road, Sabden, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.
He was fined £200 and banned from driving for 12 months.
Damian Pickup, defending, said Celestial gave a reading of 62 at the road side and when he failed to provide a sample at the police station asked the officer to give him a bit more time.
“He didn’t know he was drink driving but accepts that he was,” said Mr Pickup.
